On May 2025, the streets of Kumanovo came alive with energy, unity, and purpose as the city hosted the 7th edition of the Born2Run race—an event that has become a powerful symbol of solidarity and community resilience. Organised in celebration of the Day of Europe, this year’s edition brought together runners of all ages and backgrounds to take part in 3km and 10km races that transcended mere athletic competition.

But Born2Run is about much more than just running—it is about building bridges. Through the universal language of sports, the event encourages connection across ethnic and social divides, reinforcing trust, mutual respect, and coexistence in a diverse and vibrant community like Kumanovo. Each stride on the track was a step toward a more inclusive and united future.

The event was made possible thanks to the unwavering support of local institutions and partners, including the Municipality of Kumanovo, Ministry of Internal Affairs – Kumanovo, Red Cross Kumanovo, Fluidi-M, the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, and the Health Centres of Kumanovo and Lipkovo. Their collaboration and commitment were essential in making the race not only safe and well-organised but also impactful.

As part of the broader PRECYOUS project and its efforts to promote social cohesion in communities through youth engagement and sports, Born2Run served as a street campaign to raise awareness in neighbourhoods where Social Action Youth/Sports Hubs (SAYSHs) are or will be established. It marked a visible, joyful expression of community action—where running became a tool for social transformation.

To all those who ran, volunteered, or cheered from the sidelines—thank you. Your presence and spirit fuel the movement. Let’s continue to run not only for fitness but for peace, equality, and solidarity.
