Do you want to strengthen your news literacy and critical thinking skills? Welcome to an engaging and practical online course designed to help you navigate today’s complex media landscape and become more resilient to fake news, misinformation, and propaganda.
This comprehensive course is designed for two target groups and includes two tailored modules:
- Trainer Module – for educators, youth workers, and trainers who want to deepen their knowledge and gain practical tools for teaching young people.
- Citizen & Youth Module – for young people and the general public who want to understand how information is created, spread, and manipulated, and how to think critically about media content.
Structured into 15 dynamic lessons, the course covers all essential aspects of news literacy and critical thinking, from understanding how different media and algorithms shape information, to recognizing fake news, misinformation, and propaganda. Participants will learn effective search and fact-checking techniques, explore the impact of AI-generated content, and develop practical critical thinking skills for analysing media messages, news articles, and global information flows, with a special focus on youth engagement and media activism.
Each lesson combines text, visuals, videos, presentations, quizzes, recommended reading, and Open Educational Resources, making learning interactive, practical, and engaging.
The course is self-paced and available 24/7, allowing you to learn whenever and wherever it suits you best.
The course was developed by the expert teams of the project partners and led by Dr. Aleksandar Pavlović and Romina Begaj, bringing together academic expertise and hands-on experience in media literacy and youth work.
To ensure broad accessibility, the course is available in seven languages: English, Albanian, Bosnian, Croatian, Macedonian, Montenegrin, and Serbian. You can select the language version that suits you best below.
